Kikuko Kurose, born in Hyogo, Japan, began her study of
piano music at the age of five and pursued her studies
under Professor Masutaka Kanazawa at Kobe College Music
Department. After graduation from the College in 1975,
she started her career as a soloist in recitals and with
orchestra. In 1979 she went to Italy to make a further
study under Professor Lya De Barberiis at Santa Cecilia
National Academy in Rome until she was given a diploma
in 1981.
During this period she wons prizes in various
international competitions held in Italy including
“Bellini” in Caltanissetta, “Viotti” in Vercelli, and
“Neglia” in Enna. Since then she had developed an active
concert work as a soloist giving recitals and concertos
in many places in Japan and Italy.
Her performances have
often been broadcast on Radio Italiana e Radio Vaticana.
She has released such CD albums as “Kikuko Kurose
Plays Schubert” in 2 volums (1998), “Momenti
d’incanto” (2000) and “W. A. Mozart - Kikuko
Kurose Piano World, Emozioni di poesia e di colore”
(2007) by Nami Records, Tokyo. |
